Great Stuff

We're always told to learn from history, but for some reason this event has not transcended to other conflicts.

Hopefully more examples of flower power will start popping up in all the areas current areas of conflict.

And whatever works...carnations, roses, dandelions.

I far too young to remember Carnation Revolution but I am constantly amazed and how quickly despotic regimes can disappear, often with virtually no violence. The picture at the top is especially powerful.

There is documentary that was aired in 2005 about this piece of history, I think it was by National Geographic.. I was hoping someone could help me with the name of it.. I am pretty sure it was NG, but it may have been on History Channel. I've looked for it online, but no luck.. I thought someone who read your article might know.. Thanks very much

Although I was only 9 years old at the time, it is strange that I don't remember Portugal’s 1974 Carnation Revolution, although I do remember the Iranian Revolution in 1979. I agree with commenter No. 3 above but would like to add Syria and Yemen to the list.
